Parody of Fables:

 The Dog and the Tiger

“Luxury without freedom is not worth having”

One night, in the forest the Tiger, who was so hungry. He was almost skin and bone, met a large, sleek Dog, who was as strong as he was fat. The Tiger would gladly have made a meal of him, but he knew he could never win a fight with the Dog in his condition. So, bidding the Dog goodnight very humbly, he praised his good looks.

“It would be easy for you,” replied the Dog,” to be as fat as I am, if you liked. Leave this forest, where you and your friends can hardly find enough to eat and often die of hunger. Follow me, and you shall live much better.”

“What do I have to do?” asked the Tiger. “Almost nothing,” answered the Dog; “just chase away robbers, and fawn upon the folks of the house. You will, in return, be fed all sorts of nice things, bones and table scraps to say nothing of many a friendly pat of the head.” The Tiger, at the picture so much comfort, nearly shed tears of joy. They trotted off together, but, as they went along, the Tiger noticed a bare spot on the Dog’s neck.

“What is that mark?” he asked. “Oh, nothing,” said the Dog,” only the merest trifle. The collar I wear when I am tied up rubs my fur.”

“Tied up!” exclaimed the Tiger, with a sudden stop.
“Tied up!” You mean you cannot always run where you please?” “Well, not always,” said the Dog. “ But what does that matter?” “It matters so much to me,” rejoined the Tiger,

Tiger was so worried about what he saw, he touch the Dog’s neck, then suddenly, the mark was gone. The Dog was so shocked for what happen. Tiger said, “that your life shall not be mine at any price!” Then Tiger leaping away, he ran once more to his native forest as saying goodbye to the Dog.
